  8. NOTICE TO USERS CONCERNING VIRUSES; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  12. A "virus" is a computer program which is deliberately engineered 
  13. to corrupt or hinder operation of a computer system. Such 
  14. malicious programs are occasionally written for unknown 
  15. purposes. The criminal codes of virtually all states specifically 
  16. prohibit the creation or distribution of malicious computer 
  17. programs.

  21. The @001 BBS operates as a point for the free exchange of 
  22. information. Accordingly, program files are posted automatically 
  23. through the BBS software. The @001 BBS will not willfully 
  24. distribute viruses or other malicious programs, and will report 
  25. to proper authority users who attempt to do so. Files posted by 
  26. users are not verified prior to their availability for transfer. 
  27. THEREFORE USERS ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM SUCH ANTI-VIRAL CHECKING 
  28. OR OTHER VERIFICATION OF FILES PRIOR TO USING THE SAME ON THEIR 
  29. SYSTEM OR PERMITTING OTHERS TO USE SUCH FILES. If a user of this 
  30. system believes that a file which they obtained through this 
  31. system is a virus or malicious program, a private message to the 
  32. SYSOP should be left as soon as possible. If any program is 
  33. proven to contain malicious code or a virus, it will be deleted 
  34. from the system.

  39. THAT THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES AS TO MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR 
  40. A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OTHER U.C.C. WARRANTY GIVEN AS TO FILES 
  41. AND USERS ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE SUCH STEPS AS THEY
